- EO100 Standard Review 2014-2016
Equitable Origin’s EO100 Standard for oil and gas exploration and production was conceived and developed with stakeholders engaged in the decision making from the first days of inception in February 2009, to its launch in 2012 and will continue to be included when the standard is updated and improved.
The first ‘consultation draft’ of the EO100 Standard was developed by Equitable Origin, working with a group that included formal representation from four Indigenous Peoples’ organizations, a number of local and international environmental and development NGOs working in the Amazon basin, the Ecuadorian oil company Petroamazonas EP and with the technical support of specialist consultants, One World Standards and Colibri Consulting. The EO100 Standard ‘consultation draft’ was made publicly available in December 2009 and, along with subsequent versions of the standard, was used in consultations with stakeholders through a series of workshops, a public comment period, international consultations and a formal Consultation Committee and Reference Group. A description of the key consultation and stakeholder engagement events is provided in the timeline.
